  1. Thank you! I’m a fifth year umpire and just barely feel like I am starting to learn the craft. Your podcasts are outstanding, and I really appreciate how thoughtful and serious your talks are.

  2. I enjoy listening to your podcasts, I have found some helpful tips on them. I am getting into my preseason workouts, I thought maybe that could be a subject? I am doing squats and jogging, I would love to hear if there is anything in particular that veteran umpires do. Maybe have a few tips on nutrition as well? Thank you!

  3. I found out about UmpTalk on the umpire-empire web forum and I’m glad that I did. I’ve listened to all 19 podcasts and I’ve learned something from each of them. They are easy to listen to and the lighter moments make me smile. I have particularly enjoyed the interviews with the various camp instructors. They have inspired me to attend a camp to get better. Keep up the good work.

  4. Just found your site and love it. Using podcasts is a great idea. I’d like to invite you to check out my site, a new one, still under construction (and always will be). My goal is similar to yours, except probably for newer umpires. My centerpiece, presently, is a section I call Rules Plainspoken in which I provide 28 articles (and growing) that try to unify and clarify the impossibly scattered rules of the game. I invite you to come take a look. Thanks!!

  5. Very much enjoy the podcasts–especially the fact that you recognize and acknowledge that you umpire differently with each level of baseball. Umpiring and skill sets go hand in hand…
